We have added new information to the NC Vote Tracker - you can now see the ballots requested and voted – by party.

When voting in a primary in North Carolina, registered Democrats receive the Democratic ballot, registered Republicans receive the Republican ballot, Libertarians would get the Libertarian ballot and unaffiliated voters have the option to request any of the party’s ballots or a non-partisan ballot. The new data has been situated under the Party category and looks like this:

Party

Democrats 38,378

Republicans 26,448

Unaffiliateds 16,669

Libertarians 135

Ballot Requested

Democratic 44,126

Republican 34,370

Unaffiliated 2,865

Libertarian 269

These numbers show that 47.01% of the voters are Democrats, 32.40% are Republicans, unaffiliated voters are at 20.42% and Libertarians make-up .17% of the voters thus far. But, 54.06% of the ballots voted have been Democratic ballots, 42.10% have been Republican ballots, only 3.51% of the ballots requested have been non-partisan ballots and .33% Libertarian ballots.
