Waking up to Green Rent Seeking

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 | Written by Jeff Mixon |

The dust and tear gas have cleared from the Democratic National Convention in Denver and a very interesting point has surfaced from the street protests.  The protests included a group criticizing the growth of the role of business in the Al Gore Green coalition.  Zombie, protest blogger extraordinaire, has the best pictures of the protest.

Can this be the first crack in the green wall of global warming alarmists?  What this very loud and flannel clad group of people is alleging is true.  Big business wants in on Al Gore’s environmental money making carbon credit scheme.  The green movement wants the hand of government to enter the commercial sector and rearrange market forces to take money from one group and give it to another.

Who would have guessed a protest at the DNC would hit Green-Biz in the wallet?  Well, even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
