An outfit called Thumbtack.com has given North Carolina a C-plus rating for “small business friendliness.” My late father, when I got a C on my report card, said that “C is for crummy.”
Note that our regional competitors do better. For instance, Virginia gets an A, South Carolina gets a B-plus.
