Absentee by-mail ballots have been being mailed back to the local boards of elections for  a while now and the State Board of Elections has made the absentee data file available on their FTP site – so Vote Tracker is back.

Civitas will update our database each weekday morning and as we get closer to the election we will update on weekends too – check in by 10 a.m. each morning.

As of the data this morning, 2,838 ballots have been returned and “accepted” by the county Boards of Elections’s.  Republicans – 1,291, Democrats – 1,012, Unaffiliateds – 532 and Libertarians 3. Check the count of ballots by County below.

There is much more to be found on the NC Vote Tracker – the vote can be broken down County, Districts (congressional and legislative), Party, Age, Race and even Precinct.
