A Look at Voter Turnout After the First Day of One-Stop

According to the State Board of Elections data 150,872 people turned out to vote on the first day of one-stop voting.

After the first day of one stop voting the total percentage of Democrats voting was down about 4 ½ percent from 2008, Republicans are voting at about a 2 ½ percent higher rate and the unaffiliated vote is about 2 percent more than 2008.

Raw numbers have more Democrats (105,659) voting than Republicans (77,675)  and Unaffiliated voters (39,667).

In 2008, after the first day of one-stop voting, the number of white voters was 123,733 (69.9 percent), black voters 46,490 (26.2 percent) and other voters 1808 (1.0 percent).  In 2012 the breakdown, by race: white voters 153,754 (68.8 percent), 60,331 (27 percent) and other voters 2,289 (1 percent).
