Are you a school board member or educator? If so, you’ll be interested in the April 14th Civitas School Board Training in Winston Salem. The training, cosponsored with the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Public Schools, is scheduled from from 10 am until 2 pm. Sessions are focused on budgeting and developing strategies to manage schools through challenging economic times. Speakers include Phil Price (Chief Financial Officer, North Carolina Department of Public Instruction); Kerry Crutchfield (Former Director of Finance, Winston-Salem/Forsysth County Public Schools) and Dr. Terry Stoops (Director of Education Studies the John Locke Foundation). Cost is $30.00 and includes lunch. Register on the Civitas web site or call 919-834-2099. With approval, school board members can count 4 hours toward professional training requirements.
